Originally from the Netherlands, Erik moved to Vancouver Island in 2015 after earning his business and marketing degree at the University of Amsterdam, arriving with a background in corporate account management and years spent as a ski instructor and travel guide. He got licensed in 2018 and today is a Licensed Partner and Private Office Advisor with Engel & Völkers Vancouver Island North and co-owner of Clever Savage Group, working acreage, waterfront and relocation from the Comox Valley through Campbell River and Quadra Island. Clients and colleagues get his Dutch directness whether they asked for it or not, which is generally why they come back.

Since 2005, Mike has been doing one thing particularly well: putting the right people together. Sometimes that's a buyer and a home that never hits the market. Often it's two people in his network who simply needed to meet, with no deal attached at all. He founded and leads The Next Door, one of Vancouver's premier teams, and has held Medallion Club status since 2007, reaching the President's Medallion Club, the top 1%. Mike lives in Whistler with his wife and three children and works the full Sea to Sky corridor, so clients moving between the city and the mountains get someone who knows both markets firsthand.
He also mentors newer advisors, helping them build a business that outlasts their first good year.
FAQs
How do I get to the conference from the airport?
Most attendees fly into Vancouver International Airport (YVR). From there, Whistler is a scenic, 2.5 hour drive along the Sea to Sky Highway. We recommend booking a seat on a shuttle Epic Rides or Whistler Shuttle or a private chartered motorcoach at Luxury Transport Inc. ahead of time to avoid needing a rental car in the pedestrian-friendly village.
